Description
- Projects in this scope area may include repairing or replacing structural steel framing members; and installing metal decking, new base plates, shear stud connectors, and expansion joint plates. The full, detailed scope of work for this project including any additional work areas will be updated here after alignment with project stakeholders through scoping and design activities.
Baseline
- Dunnage for Rooftop HVAC
- Rooftop units shall be anchored adequately to the dunnage as per the manufacturer’s literature.
- Dunnage shall adequately transfer all load to the roof without damaging it.
- Rooftop units shall be placed on the cast-in-place dunnage or prefabricated dunnage provided by the rooftop unit manufacturer.
- Dunnage shall not retain the water.
- The height of the dunnage shall allow enough clearance for any maintenance if required. The location of the rooftop unit shall be per Mechanical discipline.
- Fence and/or guard rail around the rooftop units shall be provided per the latest NYC Building Code.
- The Contractor shall submit dunnage drawings signed and sealed by a New York State Licensed Professional Engineer.
Stretch
- Use recycled steel and/or steel from electric arc furnaces (EAFs) to the extent possible.
